Patrick Joseph McGoohan was born on March 19th, 1928 in Astoria, Long Island, New York.

His father, Thomas McGoohan, an Irish farmer had married Rose Fitzpatrick in the 1920's and they emigrated to the United States of America to look for work. However, things didn't work out in the US and the family moved back to Ireland and finally, seven years later, they settled in Sheffield, England.
